SALEM – Class AA girls and boys teams had sweeps Saturday in the 3-Class Shootout, the annual showcase for high school basketball seniors, at the McCook Central/Montrose Auditorium.
Girls
Class AA 95, Class A 75
Ndjakalenga Mwenentanda, the Sioux Falls Washington standout who is headed to the University of Texas, had 24 points and 13 rebounds. Bella Swedlund of Winner was named Class A MVP, scoring 17.
Class AA 98, Class B 71
Mwenentanda earned Class AA MVP honors with 34 points, an event record, and 15 rebounds. Maleighya Estes of White River scored 10 points for the Class B girls team.
Boys
Class AA 93, Class A 88
Marcus Phillips of Sioux Falls Roosevelt led Class AA with 23 points and nine rebounds. Flandreau’s Tash Lunday scored 18 points and 16 rebounds for Class A.
Class AA 122, Class B 86
Caden Hinker had 26 points and 14 rebounds to share co-MVP honors in Class AA with Phillips. Cooper Logan of Potter County scored 18 points for Class B.
