FORT MYERS, FL – Twins’ pitching was extra sharp Monday in the team’s next-to-last spring training game, a 2-0 win over the Boston Red Sox at Hammond Stadium.
Minnesota pitching allowed only three hits. Bailey Ober worked the first four innings, allowing one hit, striking out three and walking one. Jharel Cotton gave up a hit in two innings. Jorge Alcala worked a perfect seventh inning and Simeon Woods Richardson allowed only one hit over the eighth and ninth innings.
Miguel Sanó hit his third spring homer, a solo shot in the fourth, for the Twins (9-9). Max Kepler hit his first spring home run in the sixth.
Minnesota’s final spring training game will be on Tuesday against the Red Sox at JetBlue Park in Fort Myers.
