A HuntSAFE class Independent Study Field Day will be held Saturday (June 25, 2022) at the Oahe Downstream Recreation Area Shooting Range north of Fort Pierre. It’ll be held from 8-11am CT.
This Field Day requires students to complete the on-line coursework, prior to attending, to successfully complete and pass the course.

All young people between the ages of 12 and 16, as well as those who will turn 12 by Dec. 31 and who will hunt after Sept. 1 during the current year, are required to successfully complete a HuntSAFE class and possess a HuntSAFE card while hunting.
Parents are encouraged to attend the course with their children. People wishing to brush up on their safe hunting skills are also encouraged to attend.

A Traditional HuntSAFE class will be held in August at the Izaak Walton League Clubhouse in Pierre. Classes will be held Aug. 1, 2 and 4 from 6-8:30pm and Aug. 6 from 8-11:30am at the Oahe Downstream Recreation Area Shooting Range. Attendance is required at all sessions.
