At Tuesday’s (August 2nd) meeting of the Walworth County Commission, the commissioners passed a motion to appoint Vaughn Beck of Ipswich as part-time state’s attorney at a salary of $55,000. Beck will fill the vacancy left by the departure of current state’s attorney James Hare. The commissioners will continue to seek someone to fill the position on a full-time basis.
LANDFILL
Saying that a new cell needs to be built at the Landfill, Commissioner Duane Mohr made a motion to raise some rates that will go into effect January 2023. The motion was approved.
CAFO
The commissioners passed a motion to table rescinding the extension they had granted for the CAFO conditional use permit until the August 16th meeting. The CAFO representatives will be notified by certified mail.
COURTHOUSE SECURITY
A motion was approved for upgrading the courthouse’s camera and security system, with the funds to come out of the building maintenance and repair fund.
Also during Tuesday’s meeting the commissioners held some discussion on the budget.
