LEMMON – A long trip led to a very good effort, and likely, a playoff berth for Stanley County.
Broch Zeeb rushed for two touchdowns and passed for two more Friday as Stanley County defeated Lemmon/McIntosh 34-14 to improve to 3-4 and to 15th in the 9AA seed points standings.
Zeeb scored on a one-yard run to complete the Buffaloes’ first drive.
With the game tied at 8-8 nearly midway through the second quarter, Zeeb found Jackson Gette for a 57-yard touchdown pass on Gette’s first catch of the season. SC led 14-8 and never trailed again.
Zeeb threw a 28-yard scoring pass to Blaize Frost in the third quarter before Colton Brady and Zeeb had touchdown runs in the fourth quarter.
Stanley County also had three more interceptions, two by Chase Hanson and one by Zeeb to give the Buffaloes 16 interceptions for the season.
