SALEM – The AA girls team, featuring Pierre’s Remington Price, and the Class A boys team were winners Saturday in the 3-Class Shootout, the series of All-Star basketball games for South Dakota high school seniors, at McCook Central High School.
The AA girls team won its first game over Class A 88-87, then defeated the Class B team 97-71. In that game, Price scored 13 points. Jones County’s Jadyn Jensen scored 12 for the Class B team.
The Class A boys first defeated the AA team 111-105. Blake Volmer of Winner scored seven points for Class A, while Pierre’s Jackson Edman had 10 points and seven rebounds for the AA team.
Then, the Class A team topped the Class B team 129-111. Volmer scored six more. White River’s Joe Sayler led the Class B team with 37 points, hitting nine three-pointers.
Edman and Sayler were also finalists in the dunk contest, which was won by Kaden Year of Sioux Falls Jefferson.
