BRANDON – In a season that so far hasn’t been so good, Miles Doyle did something very good Saturday for Post 8.
Doyle pitched a no-hitter Saturday to give Post 8 its first win of the season, 9-0 over St. Peter (MN) in the Dakota Classic at Aspen Park.
Only an error prevented Doyle from pitching a perfect game in the six-inning gem. He faced 19 batters, only one more than the minimum, striking out eight.
Carter Sanderson, Ridge Leimbach and Cooper Terwilliger each drove in two runs for the Eights.
Amazingly, Post 8 was then no-hit in the game that immediately followed by Tayden Mitchell of Brandon Valley in a 10-0 five-inning win.
Mitchell struck out eight, walked one and hit two. Nate Meyers homered and drove in three for Brandon Valley.
Post 8 fell to 1-17.
