A 45 year old man from Pierre faces charges stemming from an incident that happened around 9:30 Friday night (9:40pm July 7, 2023).
Information from the Pierre Police Department says officers responded to the area of Harrison Avenue and Sioux Avenue because of a report of people fighting. During the investigation, officers learned 45-year-old Adam Kehrwald of Pierre had assaulted a victim, but a bystander intervened and assisted in getting Kerwald away from the victim. Officers also learned Kehrwald had threatened three juveniles in the same area.
Kerhwald was located by officers a couple of blocks away and was arrested. During the arrest process, Kerhwald resisted arrest, assaulted one Pierre police officer and threatened another. Kerhwald was charged with:
