JULY 19, 2023, UPDATE:
Repairs are underway, but residents along a section of Highland Avenue in Pierre need to plan to be without running water until “evening” because of a water line break.
Information from the city office says once the water is turned back on, those affected will be served with a boil order.
Highland Avenue in Pierre, between Broadway Avenue and Church Street, is currently closed to through traffic for curb and gutter work. Access will be maintained for local traffic only.
The indicated stretch of Highland Avenue is expected to remain closed until the end of July.
