At Wednesday’s (November 8th) Mobridge City Council meeting, the council approved a step increase for Mobridge Police Department dispatcher Teylor Talley. They also approved new dispatcher hire Caylor Benson. A motion to surplus the police K9, Zane, passed. Zane is now retired and moving to Minnesota with his handler.
For the Water/Wastewater Department, Don Blankhartz was approved as the new part time waste water plant operator; and a pay request to Northern Plains Contracting for $53,148.08 was approved by the council.
Under New Business, discussion on an ordinance regarding obstruction on streets, and parking on streets and yards was moved to the December meeting due to the absence of two council members Wednesday night. Mobridge Mayor Gene Cox would like to have all council members present for the discussion.
All 2024 liquor license renewals on the agenda were approved; and public hearings were held and approvals were given on several temporary brown bag permits and temporary liquor licenses for upcoming events in Mobridge.
Also at the meeting, the council approved the transfer of $50,000 from the General Fund to the Pool Loan Fund. Mayor Cox said this will help ease the burden on property tax payers.
The council also approved the Mayor’s appointment of Rylae Jensen to the Housing Board through May 2027.
