BROOKINGS, S.D. – Six former South Dakota State football standouts have been preparing for a pair of college all-star games to be played this week. A group of five former Jackrabbits have returned to Frisco, Texas,– the site of the Football Championship Subdivision national championship game– for the 99th East-West Shrine Bowl Thursday night (Feb. 1, 2024). The five players are Garret Greenfield, offensive tackle; Zach Heins, tight end; Jadon Janke, wide receiver; Jaxon Janke, wide receiver, and Mason McCormick, offensive guard. Kickoff for the East-West Shrine game is set for 7pm at Ford Center at the Star, with television coverage on NFL Network and NFL+. The sixth player is running back Isaiah Davis who is slated to play Saturday (Feb. 3, 2024) in the Reese’s Senior Bowl as a member of the National Team. That game is slated for a noon kickoff at Hancock Whitney Stadium in Mobile, Alabama, and also will be televised by NFL Network. Davis, Greenfield and McCormick also received invitations this week to attend the NFL Scouting Combine Feb. 27-March 4 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
