A 37 year old Pierre man ended 2024 by getting arrested early Tuesday morning (Dec. 31, 2024).
Information from the Pierre Police Department says at around 12:30am, Patrol Officers were sent to the 800 Block of E. Sioux Avenue in Pierre because a man had barricaded himself and other people in a room.
Officers learned Alec Anderson had been previously trespassed at that location. When a security guard asked Anderson to leave, Anderson went into a room where there was other people and held the door shut. Officers spoke with Anderson through the door and eventually convinced him to open the door. As Officers entered, Anderson retreated into the room and then resisted attempts to put handcuffs on him and take him into custody.
Anderson was ultimately arrested and taken to the Hughes County Jail charged with resisting arrest, obstructing an officer, and trespassing.
