The Fort Pierre Tourism and Promotion Council has awarded two grants through its 2025 Community Beautification Grant program.
The grant recipients are:
-
Fort Pierre Moose Lodge 1813 – $5,000
-
Downtown Development Committee – $2,500
The grants were given for projects that will enhance the city’s visual appeal and historical charm.
The Fort Pierre Moose Lodge 1813, located on Highway 83, will use its grant to improve the west-facing exterior of its building, creating a more cohesive and attractive view along one of Fort Pierre’s most visible corridors.
The Downtown Development Committee will restore historic “ghost murals” on two downtown buildings. The project, led by local artist Jill Kokesh, will preserve Fort Pierre’s visual heritage while enhancing the look and feel of the city’s historic core.
