This week (June 18, 2025), seven members of the Boys & Girls Club of the Capital Area in Pierre received new bicycles, thanks to a program that honors a long-time supporter of the Club.
After retiring from Capital Area Counseling Service in 2020, Dennie Pfrimmer began purchasing bicycles and gifting them to Club members in need so they could be active outside during the summer.
Prior to his death in September (Sept. 4, 2024), Pfrimmer’s wife, Cheryl Stone, and her brother, Clark Stone, promised they would continue the tradition, and thus began the Pfrimmer Pedal Promise program.
Clark Stone lives in California, but was in Pierre to see the Club members pick out their new bikes and safety equipment.
Clark says it’s worth the trip to be able to see the kids’ reactions.
Anybody wanting more information or wanting to donate to the Pfrimmer Pedal Promise program should contact Club CEO Steve Steele at ceo@bgccaparea.com or at 605-295-4412.
