Wanda Jundt was the voice of Eureka, South Dakota for 45 years! Starting the program out of the old Opp’s Clothier in downtown Eureka.
The Eureka Show aired on 1300 KOLY – AM from the start back in 1980 and most recently every Thursday at 3:oo pm. Wanda kept listeners updated on what was happening in Eureka week after week despite the weather or even having children. Wanda was live with Karen Bricks for her final show. Wanda shared a number of great stories on her last day on KOLY-AM, telling about gathering all of her information to take to the hospital so she could do her Eureka Show after having her babies.
The show featured news from Eureka and the surrounding area and had special guests from the SD Highway Patrol to the SD Game Fish and Parks. Many who were return guests throughout the years, some as had been with her for over twenty years.
Thursday, December 18th, 2025 was a day for celebrating Wanda’s amazing accomplishments. Eureka Mayor Wendy Brockel signed a proclamation recognizing Jundt’s retirement from “The Wanda Show” making December 18th: “Wanda Jundt Appreciation Day” in the city of Eureka, South Dakota! Dakota Media Group and KOLY-AM also made it “Wanda Jundt Day” on the air waves of 1300 AM and 101.9 FM in Mobridge.
