The Sully Buttes Chargers are living up to the hype in 2026 after pulling off another impressive win and notching their 10th win of the regular season. The Chargers hosted the Jones County Coyotes Tuesday night and were given all they could handle in the first quarter setting up what looked to be a knock-down, drag-out fight all evening. The Coyotes jumped out to an early 17-14 lead. However, the Chargers would play potentially two of their best quarters back-to-back on the year.
In the second and third quarter, Sully Buttes would outscore Jones County 53-21 staving off any hopes of a road upset for the Coyotes. Wes Wittler and Easton Moore would both rack up double-digits in the points column as Wittler led both teams with 25 and Moore finished with an impressive 18. Even more impressive, both Wittler and Moore finished above 50% shooting from the floor combining for a 17-33 shooting. Jones County’s Dawson Hunt put forth one of his best performances of the season as he knocked down 7 of his 13 2-pt FG’s and finished with 20 points.
Jones County will look to snap a five game losing streak on Saturday at the Action Club Classic in Highmore, but it won’t be easy as they match up with 12-2 Leola Frederick Area. Sully Buttes will face off with Gettysburg on Friday night on KMLO as a part of a doubleheader, coverage on KMLO will begin around 6:15 PM CT.
