The Mobridge City Council held a regular meeting on Wednesday (June 10th) night at City Hall.
Jerod Klabunde from Moore Engineering had an update for the council on the water storage tank project.
Klabunde also wanted to keep the council in the loop on the wastewater project.
Council approved two pay requests for the water storage tank project and the water treatment plant project.
A public hearing was held for additional CDBG funding on the waste water treatment plant project. Mobridge City Finance Officer Heather Beck had the details.
Council passed a motion to ask for more funding.
Council member Amy Cerney gave a Parks Department update, thanking the swimming pool and staff for a successful season so far. She thanked seasonal staff with the mowing, and had an update on trees in the City Park. Cerney also invited residents to contact the City whenever they have questions.
Also at Wednesday night’s meeting, Council:
- Approved new hire Jeremy Gosch for water maintenance;
- Approved a step increase for Nate Shillingstad;
- Approved supporting a resolution that would designate 911 telecommunicators as Class “B” at 8% for retirement, the same as police officers;
- Approved returning a $500 deposit for moving a building on a city street;
- Approved seasonal employees for the 2026 season;
- Approved a cemetery deed transfer;
- Approved the transfer of property to MEDCO;
- Approved an application for abatement of property taxes for Mobridge Housing & Redevelopment – they are exempt.
