Aug. 31, 2026:
A 61 year old Parker woman died Thursday (Aug. 27, 2026) in a single-vehicle crash six miles northwest of Parker, South Dakota.
Preliminary crash information from the South Dakota Highway Patrol indicates Nancy Jane Ruland, the driver of a 2019 Toyota Rav 4, was traveling northbound on 451st Avenue near the 269th Street intersection. The Toyota left the road, drove over a culvert, and rolled. It came to a rest upside down in a shallow pond. Ruland sustained fatal injuries.
The investigation is ongoing.
The Highway Patrol is an agency of the South Dakota Department of Public Safety.
