EVANSVILLE, IN – The program with championship experience was too much for Black Hills State.
Two-time defending men’s Division II national champion Northwest Missouri State stopped Black Hills State Thursday 70-57 in the national semifinal of the Men’s Division II NCAA Tournament at the Ford Center.
With just under 13 minutes to play, Black Hills State (26-8) trailed by only four at 43-39. After that, the Bearcats had a 17-2 run to take control of the game.
Luke Waters led NMSU with 17 points.
Joel Scott had 19 points and nine rebounds for the Yellowjackets. Adam Moussa hit three three-pointers and scored 13 points.
Black Hills State appeared in the NCAA Tournament and the Elite Eight for the first time.
