The Pierre City Commission has approved a variety of fee increases for some city services next year.
City finance officer Twila Hight says among the landfill fees going up are recycling, rubble/construction/demolition debris, sump sludge and asbestos disposal.
She says some utility mobilization fees will go up.
Hight says wastewater liquid waste disposal fee increases are based on the number of gallons involved.
The Pierre utility and landfill fee increases go into effect next month.
Utility Services:
Utility mobilization- delinquent residential accounts, outside work hours (Utility accounts shut off for non-payment. This would be applied when they call after hours for power to be turned back on.). The fee will increase from $80 to $100.
Utility mobilization- delinquent commercial accounts normal work hours is a new category. This fee will be $100.
Wastewater liquid waste disposal fees, less than 500 gallons going from $40 to $100.
Wastewater liquid waste disposal fees, 500-1000 gallons– Increasing from $50 to $150.
Wastewater liquid waste disposal fees, over 1000 gallons– Going from $50 to $200.
Landfill Fees:
Rubble/const/demo less than 600 lbs going from $7.77 to $8.40 per load.
Rubble/const/demo more than 600 lbs increasing from $25.90 to $28/ton.
Sump sludge less than 2500 gallons going from $30 to $35 per load
Sump sludge 2500-5000 gallons going from $60 to $70 per load
Sump sludge 5000-7500 gallons going from $90 to $105 per load
Asbestos with landfill agreement from $27.37 to $30/cubic yard
Asbestos without landfill agreement from $47.05 to $50/cubic yard
Recycling fee on residential monthly utility bill from 80¢ to $1.90/month
