Fain was born to Inez Iron Bird on July 24, 1984 in Eagle Butte, SD. He was one of the youngest of seven siblings and grew up in Dupree. He started school in Dupree and finished up at Cheyenne Eagle Butte, graduating with his hunka sisters, Jade and Brittney and classmates in 2002. Fain made many friends throughout his high school years and life. His passion was basketball and softball. At a very tender young age, Fain got his first softball mitt from his mom. He caught his first fly ball at the age of five years old. After that he was hooked.
Fain was very strong, quick witted, independent, and a hard worker at all he did. He was always up to a challenge and was not afraid of anything that he faced. He was a protective uncle, brother, nephew, friend, and especially towards his mother, Inez.
In 2007, Fain met his wife LeeAnn Little Shield and they were married in November 2014. To this union, six children were born: Hayden Cole, Nancy Fay, Roman True, Chloe Jean, Kendall Layne, and Zoey Sharlene. In January 2009 Roman passed away, and October 3, 2021 LeeAnn passed away. Sadly, Fain never recovered from these loses.
Fain was employed at several different jobs throughout his lifetime, especially working with children during his employment at Eagle Butte Head Start and Tiospaye Topa School in LaPlant. His firefighting career began in 2007, when he received the honor of being Rookie of the Year, and continued through 2017.
Fain is survived by his children: Hayzen Cole, Nancy Fay, Chloe Jean, Kendall Layne, and Zoey Sharlene; mother, Inez Iron Bird; siblings: Michael Condon Jr., Tonya Condon, Megan (Milo) Lafferty, Bernard In The Woods, Danielle “Dani” Cass, and Nikita Clown; other siblings: Katee Circle Eagle and RJ Lawrence; nieces and nephews: Shadow and Blaze Condon, Shalyndrea and Jerral Murray, Aliah Condon Iron Bird, Shawnee, Sheyenne, and Sha’Kinnley Lafferty, MacKenzie Michaeli, and Tanksi; two grandsons: Kolbe Nathan and Cassius Caine; and hunka siblings: Ronald Adam Jody Charging Eagle, Dean Charger, Jenny Jefferies, Jade Clown, Savannah Peterson, and Brittney (Marshall) Brown.
