Fort Pierre and the Stanley County Fairgrounds are hosting the 73rd annual South Dakota High School Finals Rodeo today through Sunday (June 14-19, 2022).
Fairgrounds Manager Scott Deal says the facilities are spruced up and ready for action.
High School Rodeo Association Executive Secretary Ann Sundermann says they’re expecting around 325 participants in over a dozen events.
Sundermann says winners will receive awards ranging from belt buckles to saddles.
Sundermann says people can purchase admission passes for individual days or for the entire week.
The state’s top high school rodeo athletes are also competing for a place on South Dakota’s team at the National High School Finals Rodeo next month (July 17-23, 2022) in Gillette, Wyoming.
