The Fort Pierre Ranger District invites the public to stop in at their office in Fort Pierre (1020 N. Deadwood Street) tomorrow (Sept. 27) from 8am-noon or 1-5pm (Central Time) to celebrate National Public Lands Day.
Staff will be handing out free packets of pollinator flower seed, Smokey Bear 75th birthday memorabilia, maps and information about hunting, fishing and camping on the 116,000-acre Fort Pierre National Grassland.
Fourth grade students may also stop in at the Fort Pierre Ranger District to pick up their “Every Kid in a Park” recreational passes in exchange for an EKIP voucher. Fourth graders and their families can enjoy free entrance to National Parks and discounts at other federal land units that charge fees.
