RAPID CITY – Rapid City Post 22 Hardhats used a four-run second inning to cruise to a 6-1 win Thursday over Post 8 in the Class A American Legion Regional Tournament at Fitzgerald Stadium. Post 22 leads the best-of-three series 1-0.
Aiden Roberts singled twice and drove in three runs for the Hardhats.
Spencer Easland drove in the only run for Post 8 (9-27) with a fifth-inning single. The Eights committed five errors, leading to four unearned runs for Rapid City Post 22.
Game 2 of the series is scheduled for noon CT Friday at Fitzgerald Stadium. Post 8 must win that game and a deciding third game to advance to next week’s Class A Legion State Tournament in Yankton.
