One Central South Dakota team has taken a step up before even playing a game in this week’s South Dakota Media High School Basketball Polls, released Monday.
The Lyman Raiders, ranked third in the preseason Class B girls poll, are up one spot to number two after previous number two team Ethan lost their opener last week. Lyman will open its season at Sully Buttes on Tuesday in a meeting of ranked teams. The Chargers are up to number four.
Pierre, which was ranked fourth in the preseason Class AA girls poll, dropped out after a loss.
In the Class B boys poll, White River remains third and Lower Brule is still fifth.
