JULY 16, 2024:
A state prison inmate from South Dakota who was placed on escape status over five months ago is back in custody.
Offender Curtis Milk was arrested Monday (July 15, 2024) in Santa Cruz, California. Milk failed to return to the Rapid City Minimum Center following a work assignment on Feb. 2, 2024.
Failure to return to custody following a community assignment constitutes second-degree escape, a Class 5 felony punishable by up to 5 years in prison.
FEBRUARY 3, 2024:
State prison offender Curtis Milk has been placed on escape status. Milk failed to return to the Rapid City Minimum Center following a work assignment on February 2, 2024.
Milk is a Native American male, age 30. He is 6-feet-2-inches tall and weighs approximately 200 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.
Milk is currently serving sentences for DWI 3rd offense and possession of a controlled substance from Pennington County.
