A 59 year old woman from Pierre faces multiple charges after an accident in town Saturday evening (June 14, 2025, approximately 6pm).
The Pierre Police Department says Patrol Officers were dispatched to the alleyway near the 300 Block of S. Pierre St. in Pierre for a hit-and-run traffic crash report. It was reported that a black Cadillac Escalade had crashed into an electrical box and left the scene. During the investigation, Patrol Officers located the black Escalade parked approximately 3 blocks from the crash scene.
Patrol Officers identified the driver involved in the crash as Jann Vaudrin of Pierre. Vaudrin was found to have consumed multiple medications before the crash. Based on indicators observed by Officers, Vaudrin was suspected of being under the influence of drugs.
Vaudrin was arrested and taken to the Hughes County Jail. She’s charged with 3rd offense driving under the influence, driving without a valid license, ingesting a substance to become intoxicated, and leaving the scene of an accident.
