A 31 year old man from Miller died in a two-vehicle crash Monday morning (July 21, 2025, at 7:54am) in Huron.
The names of the persons involved have not been released pending notification of family members.
Preliminary crash information from the South Dakota Highway Patrol indicates the driver of a 2001 Buick LeSabre was traveling northbound on West Park Avenue, failed to yield at a stop sign and entered the intersection with US Highway 14. A semi traveling eastbound on Highway 14 collided with the Buick. The Buick came to rest in the northwest ditch and the semi came to rest in the eastbound lanes of US 14, closing the highway for approximately five hours.
The driver of the Buick sustained fatal injuries. The driver of the semi, a 34 year old man from Wolsey, was not injured. Both drivers were wearing their seat belt.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
