July 22, 2025, update:
No one was injured, but there is damage to a building on private property after the front end of a vehicle broke through one of the brick walls this morning (July 22, 2025) in Pierre.
Information from the Pierre Police Department says at around 8:15am, Patrol Officers were dispatched to a vehicle crash at 306 E. Capitol Avenue. Upon investigation, officers determined that while a 55-year-old female from Pierre was attempting to back a 2022 Jeep Wagoneer out of a parking space, the vehicle instead went forward and struck the building.
Again, there were no injuries, but there is possible structural damage to the building.
July 22, 2025:
The Pierre Volunteer Fire Department Rescue Squad, the Pierre Police Department and other emergency response agencies are at 306 E. Capitol Avenue, where the front bumper of a Jeep Wagoneer has broken through a brick wall. The incident happened around 8:30 Tuesday morning (July 22, 2025).
No other details are available at this time.
