The South Dakota Department of Veterans Affairs, in partnership with Hughes County Veterans Service Officer Mike Mullen, is hosting a “Coffee and Conversation” event Wednesday (Aug. 13, 2025) at 6:30pm CT at Peaceful Pines Senior Living (1000 Yellowstone Street) in Fort Pierre.
State Veterans Affairs Secretary Jeremiah Schneider says this gathering is part of the Department’s “What’s Brewing” program— an outreach effort to connect directly with veterans, hear their stories and provide updates on services and benefits available to them. He says they’ll be able to answer questions about things such as compensation, education, pensions, healthcare, burial benefits, the State Veterans Cemetery and the State Veterans Home.
All veterans are encouraged to attend.
