The first of three Fort Pierre Summer Nights events is this evening (Aug. 6).
Live music, food and fun will all be found on Deadwood Street in downtown Fort Pierre from 5:30-7:30pm CST.
Road to the River is tonight’s theme and activities include:
- a pulled pork sandwich meal benefiting the Zonta club
- live music by the Homestretch Band
- display of StreetMasters cars
- wagon rides
- paint a suncatcher
- watch a pickleball demonstration
- various vendors
Fort Pierre Summer Nights will also be held August 13 (Healthy Hometown theme) and August 20 (Safety Night theme).
Activities being held tomorrow and Saturday are:
• Aug. 7 (5:30-7:30pm) and Aug. 8 (11am-2pm) Road to the River Crazy Days on lower Pierre Street. The Historic Pierre Street Association will have outdoor family friendly activities, vendors, street dances, water activities, a dunk tank and a cornhole tournament.
• Street Masters 31st annual Dam Run Aug. 7-8 with activities in Pierre and Fort Pierre including meet and greets, Gravity Drags, a Show and Shine, Poker Run and more.
The Pierre and Fort Pierre communities are holding a variety of events from Aug. 1-8 as part of the 1st annual Road to the River for local residents and those traveling to the 80th annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.
