One way may students in Pierre and Fort Pierre get to and from school and after school activities is by using River Cities Public Transit.
Executive director Ron Baumgart says they usually transport around 500 kids per day, but as of last Thursday (Aug. 20), they had about half that signed up.
Safety and training officer Adam Sharkey says they’ve implemented additional cleaning procedures for their fleet of buses and vans.
River Cities Public Transit is asking parents to sign kids up to ride one week in advance.
Once they’re registered, Sharkey says they have fare cards for the kids to use.
