The Future Fort Pierre organization is over half way to its fundraising goal to add lights to the pedestrian bridge over the Bad River.
As of the end of last week (Aug. 21), $44,000 in pledges and cash donations have been received. The project is expected to cost just shy of $72,600 ($72,588). The September 15, 2020, fundraising goal is $80,000 in cash and pledges to assist with future upkeep.
A “Givers Recognition Plaque” will be located next to the bridge. Donors will be identified in these categories:
· $250 to $999
· $1,000 to $9,999
· $10,000 to $19,999
Special Gifts:
· $20,000 and above
The Future Fort Pierre organization will manage the funds and donations made to them are tax deductible. Upon completion, the City of Fort Pierre will maintain the Bad River Pedestrian Bridge and lighting for the life of the bridge.
