PIERRE, SD – Janice Lorraine Hardy, 73, of Pierre, SD, died at Highmore Health on Sunday, March 1, 2026.
Janice was born on October 20, 1952, to Michael and Ethel (Hiller) Maskovich Sr. in Pierre, SD. She grew up in the Pierre and Fort Pierre area and graduated from Stanley County High School.
Janice married Lavern Hardy on June 30, 1990 in Pierre. She was a member of The Women of the Moose and the Lady’s Fire Auxiliary. In her spare time, she loved spending time with family, doing her crafts, beading, playing cards, bingo, and marbles.
Janice is survived by her husband Lavern, her daughter Michelle (Joseph) Soulek of Kimball, SD, her son Shawn (Brandy) Maskovich of Fort Pierre, SD, step-son Dustin Hardy of Casper, WY, step-daughter Dodie (Mark) LeFebre of Mobridge, SD, 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, her brother Michael Maskovich Jr, an aunt and uncle and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers: William, Charles and Kevin Maskovich, her mother and father-in-law Martin and Ida Hardy.
