Tuesday night, the Pierre City Commission met and had a lot to discuss. One of the topics on the docket was recreation facility rentals process and the fees to rent City-owned facilities. According to a press release, the Pierre City Commission approved a fee schedule the City of Pierre will adopt.
One of the many City-owned facilities that can be rented is the City-owned gym attached to the Boys and Girls Club. The release says that this space can be rented for a number of events, such as kids birthday parties. If you wish to rent the space during the week, the gym can be rented for $25 an hour. On weekends the price goes up to $40 an hour. The price includes the use of the sound system, scoreboard and concession area if you so wish.
According to the release the space can hold up to 20 kids. Some examples of reasons folks would rent the space are for sports parties, Nerf gun wars, crafts activities and sporting events. The hope is that in the future there will be human Foosball, giant soccer darts and other inflatables to use as well.
Other recreation facilities that you can rent are Griffin Park Storm Shelter community room, Wedding Arbor, Steamboat Park Amphitheater, the Pierre Native Arboretum and other City-owned sports fields.
If you are interested in renting one of the City-Owned facilities, you can get more information on the City of Pierreās website or by calling Pierre City Hall at 605-773-7407.
