Flags to fly at half-staff at state Capitol Saturday in honor of former legislator Dean Schrempp

Governor Larry Rhoden ordered that flags be flown at half-staff at the South Dakota State Capitol in Pierre from sunrise until sunset on Saturday (March 14, 2026) in honor of former state legislator Darrel “Dean” Schrempp.

Schrempp served in the state House of Representatives from 1993 to 1995, 1997 to 1999, and 2009 to 2016.

A service will be held at 10am CT/9am MT Saturday at All Saints Parish in Eagle Butte.
