FT. PIERRE, SD – Darren David Chase,57, of Fort Pierre, South Dakota, passed away on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at home surrounded by his family. The family will greet visitors from 6:00pm-7:00pm on Sunday, April 26th at the First United Methodist Church in Pierre followed by a 7:00pm prayer service. A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Monday, April 27th at the First United Methodist Church in Pierre. Isburg Funeral Chapel has been placed in care of the arrangements.
Darren was born on May 19, 1968, in Pierre, South Dakota, to Lyman and Marsha (Foglesong) Chase. Darren grew up in Pierre and graduated from T.F. Riggs High School. In his younger years, Darren was an avid skier and enjoyed the excitement and challenge that came with time on the water. As the years went on, he continued to enjoy the outdoors through boating, hunting, and fishing.
He attended the University of South Dakota in Vermillion, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in business and accounting. After completing his education, he went on to attain his CPA and worked in Sioux Falls for the South Dakota Investment Council. During his time in Sioux Falls he also met Lana at Barrowed Bucks when she asked him to dance. He returned to the Pierre area in 1994 and continued the family tradition by pursuing his career as a second-generation roofer for Chase Roofing. He took pride in his work and was known for being handy, dependable, and committed to doing each job well.
On September 23, 1995, Darren married the love of his life, Lana Campbell. Together they built a beautiful life centered on family, hard work, and shared memories. Their marriage was a lasting partnership filled with love and devotion. Darren was a proud father to his sons, Lukas and Logan, and his daughter, Olivia. He also found great joy in being a grandfather to Charles David Chase, a role that brought him much happiness and pride.
Family was the center of Darren’s life, and he cherished every moment spent with those he loved. He lived a life marked by love, kindness, and a strong work ethic, and he will be remembered by all who knew him as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend.
He is survived by his wife, Lana Chase; his children, Lukas (Autumn), Logan, and Olivia; his father, Lyman Chase; his sisters, Lori Day (Randy Lee), Teresa Summerfield, and Susan Nagel (Roger); and his grandson, Charles David Chase. He was preceded in death by his mother, Marsha Chase.
