PATERSON, WA – Douglas Henry Siebrasse, 74, of Paterson, WA, passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at his home.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, May 22, 2026, at the Gettysburg Cemetery, with Pastor David Otten presiding.
Doug was born on July 7, 1951, to Donald and Joyce (Opp) Siebrasse. He attended East Cattron Country School until 1960 when the family moved to Gettysburg. Doug graduated from Gettysburg High School in 1969. At graduation, Doug received an award for no days absent throughout all four years of high school. Following high school, he attended college at Springfield, SD and received a degree in diesel mechanics.
Doug developed a love for antique clocks at an early age. He learned to repair grandfather, mantel, cuckoo, and all other kinds of clocks. He liked to attend auction sales to add to his growing collection of clocks.
In the mid 1980’s, Doug moved to Paterson, Washington. He had a beautiful home close to the Columbia River. During this time, he worked for local farmers as a shop manager, repairing trucks and farm equipment. One employer remarked how neat and clean Doug kept things. He would get upset if things weren’t put back where they belonged. He was very meticulous. For part time work Doug worked for jewelers, fixing clocks and watches for their customers.
He was an accomplished wood worker and collector of antique John Deere tractors. In 1986 Doug made and dedicated a regulator wall clock to the local post office in Paterson. The clock still hangs there and runs to this day. After Doug retired, he continued repairing clocks for people. The local fire chief said Doug’s customers would often stop at the Fire Hall and ask where Doug lived so he could fix their prized possessions.
Doug is survived by his mother, Joyce Siebrasse of Gettysburg, SD; siblings: Donata Siebrasse of Lebanon, SD, Robert Siebrasse of Faulkton, SD, Kathleen Siebrasse of Piedmont, SD, Pam Ditton of Custer, SD, Colby Siebrasse of Gettysburg, SD, Jeannie Nyhus of Sioux Falls, SD, Roxie Ripley of Pierre, SD, and Terri Siebrasse of Brooklyn Center, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, Donald Siebrasse; grandfather, Henry Siebrasse; grandmothers, Emily Siebrasse and Rose Opp; nephew, Dalen Lenz; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Luce Funeral Home of Gettysburg has been entrusted with Doug’s arrangements.
