Adrian Logg, 71, of Eagle Butte, passed away Saturday, June 13, 2026, at the Cheyenne River Health Center in Eagle Butte.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. MDT, Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at St. John’s Episcopal Church, Eagle Butte. Burial will follow in the Eagle Butte Cemetery. A wake service will be 7:00 p.m. Monday, June 29, 2026, at the church, with a procession from the 4-mile at 4:00 p.m.

Adrian Courtney Logg was born on December 23,1954 to Josuha Logg Sr. and Virginia Mae (Black Prairie Dog) Logg at the Old Cheyenne River Agency in South Dakota. Adrian lived part of his childhood alongside his siblings Elgin, Lavern, Llewellyn, Cornelius, Joshua Jr., Annabel and Juanita, whom he loved and adored.

Adrian attended the Cheyenne River Agency Boarding School at the age of just 5 years old, later attending the Cheyenne Eagle Butte School where he graduated in May of 1973. After high school graduation, Adrian enlisted in the United States Army, where he graduated from Basic Combat Training, fully demonstrating his outstanding soldierly qualities. Adrian quickly advanced from Private E1 to Private E2.

Upon completing his service in the US Army, Adrian met the love of his life, Salina High Elk, in February of 1992. Adrian and Salina shared a lifelong bond of 34 years together.

Adrian was a hard worker with a strong work ethic, and a reputation for excelling at whatever he did. He was always spot-on. Adrian worked as a ranch hand, was a self-taught carpenter, worked in the school cafeteria, and spent nearly 20 years as a well-respected housekeeper with the Indian Health Service, working at the old and new hospitals. Departments would always request that Adrian be assigned to their areas, due to his quality work and friendly personality. Adrian was never late for whatever he did. He would always show up early, with a smile and ready to work – giving each task his all.

Adrian was respectful and would receive respect in return. If someone told Ardian they would do something, or be somewhere, he would hold them to it. Adrian was a man of his word and expected the same from others. One had better have a good excuse for not following through with something, but Adrian’s kindness always made way for forgiveness.

Care and compassion were a big part of who Adrian was. He was willing to do whatever was needed of him and never complained. His kindness, coupled with confidence, competence, love, respect and determination were always a driving force in Adrian.

Adrian thought the world of his three great grandchildren Blake, Wicahpi, and Breighanna, whom always did all his errands and chores from grocery shopping, sweeping/mopping floors, to checking mail and anything that needs to be done around the house. He always made sure they had extra snacks and were well taken care of.

Adrian knew his time was running out and spent his final days visiting with others about their time together, their friendships, what he wanted to get done when he was well again and his wishes after his passing. Adrian was sad knowing he would soon be gone, but happy for his time on earth and especially for the love he shared with Salina.

Staff at the Cheyenne Eagle Butte School Cafeteria and the Indian Health Service whom Adrian shared a cordial friendship and close bond with were Stacie Lee, Wally Ducheneaux, Festus Fischer, Phillip Dupris, Bradley Clown, Wade Lawrence, Laura Hunt, Keri Fischer, Dr. Jiminez, Dr. Cardenas, and many others.

Adrian is survived by one brother, Lavern Logg of Nebraska; and longtime partner, Salina. Waiting to greet Adrian in heaven are his mother Virginia, his father Joshua Sr., his grandfather Frank, his sisters Annabel and Juanita and brothers Llewellyn, Cornelius, Joshua Jr., and Elgin.

Adrian’s family would like to thank Danielle and staff from West Wind Health Services for the home health care provided to Adrian, and a special thank you to the Indian Health Service Staff in the Emergency Room and Inpatient Department for their care and comfort during Adrians difficult times. The professionalism and quality of care provided to Adrian made a difference for family and most importantly, to Adrian. He appreciated and loved you all.
