West Elizabeth Street in Pierre between Westwood Drive and West Pleasant Drive is closing Monday (July 13, 2026) while city workers do street repairs.
Once the repairs are finished and weather permitting, Morris Inc. will put down the first layer of asphalt, starting as early as Wednesday. Once paving is complete, Pierre city crews will return to install curb and gutter.
Residents along the affected stretch of West Elizabeth will have access to their driveways, but the street is closed to through traffic. The overall project is expected to take approximately two weeks to complete, again, weather permitting.
The City of Pierre appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation as these improvements are completed.
