As the Hughes County Commission works on their budget for 2026-27, they’ve penciled in a four percent pay raise for county employees.
Commissioner Connie Hohn said initially they’d penciled in a three percent wage increase, across the board.
Commissioner Rob Fines asked the group if they should start with the four percent wage increase and work from there.
Commissioner Tom Rounds, Fines and Hohn further discussed a possible four percent raise.
Hohn summarized the changes agreed upon during this round of preliminary budget discussions.
Hughes County Commissioners unanimously approved the preliminary budget framework during their meeting this week (July 21, 2026). A final version of the budget for 2026-27 will need to be approved during an upcoming meeting.
