Law enforcement agencies in South Dakota want to speak with anyone who had contact with a 37-year-old man before he disappeared in August.
Information from the state Office of Homeland Security Fusion Center says hunters found the skeletal remains of Ryan Pyle on public hunting ground in rural Charles Mix County, approximately 12.5 miles west of Platte on the south side of SD Highway 44. Dental records were used to make a positive identification.
Pyle was reported as a Missing Person Sept. 23, 2020, and was last seen in Minnesota Aug. 7, 2020. The Gregory County Sheriff’s Office located his grey, 2008 Toyota Camry with North Dakota license plates (584ASJ) abandoned on a rural gravel road Aug. 26, 2020.
Pyle was described as a 37-year-old white male, 6 feet tall and weighed 235 pounds. He may have had a small white dog with him. Pyle was known to possess a guitar and an orange colored backpack.
Anyone who saw or had contact with Pyle after Aug. 7, 2020, is encouraged to contact the Charles Mix County Sheriff’s Office at 605-487-7625.
