A 35 year old man from Pierre has been indicted by a federal grand jury for Conspiracy to Distribute Methamphetamine.
Daniel James Boe pled not guilty.
The Indictment alleges Boe was involved in a conspiracy beginning in 2017, wherein he knowingly conspired with other persons to possess and distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine in central South Dakota.
The maximum penalty if convicted is a mandatory minimum five years, up to 40 years in prison and/or a $5,000,000 fine, at least 4 years of supervised release and restitution may be ordered.
The investigation is being conducted by the Pierre Police Department, the South Dakota Highway Patrol and the Northern Plains Safe Trails Drug Enforcement Task Force. Assistant US Attorney Meghan N. Dilges is prosecuting the case.
Boe was released on bond pending trial. A trial date has not been set.
