The South Dakota Department of Health and its partners across the state will start giving COVID-19 vaccinations to designated Phase 1 Group D individuals starting next week (January 18, 2021).
South Dakota Secretary of Health Kim Malsam-Rysdon says the first priority in Group D will be those 80 and over, as well as high-risk individuals. She said the vaccine will be opened up to other individuals in Group D as vaccines become available.
Malsam-Rysdon says nearly 40,000 South Dakotans have received a COVID-19 vaccination in the past week.
Malsam-Rysdon says South Dakota has currently been receiving an average of 11,000 doses a week and has administered over 47,950 doses.
