A woman from Todd County, South Dakota, convicted of Assault With a Dangerous Weapon has been sentenced in federal court.
26 year old Julia Swift Hawk was sentenced to time served through May 18, 2021 (equal to three months incarceration), followed by two years of supervised release and was ordered to pay a $100 special assessment to the Federal Crime Victims Fund.
The conviction stems from an incident that occurred outside the Rosebud Casino, in Todd County, on January 14, 2020. Swift Hawk unlawfully assaulted an individual with a utility knife with the intent to do bodily harm to the individual.
Swift Hawk was immediately remanded to the custody of the US Marshals Service.
