The LaMinestra restaurant in Pierre was evacuated about 5:15pm yesterday (June 8) after a fire burned a hole in the back of the building.
Pierre Volunteer Fire Department truck captain Cory Hoffrogge says the fire was in a tricky spot to get to.
Considering the tight space behind the buildings, Hoffrogge says the damage was minimal.
In a Facebook post after the fire, LaMinestra said “the fire was only inches from the main gas line.” The restaurant is closed today.
