Yesterday (June 8), Round 2 of the South Dakota State High School Golf Tournaments were played at golf courses in Sioux Falls (AA girls), Spearfish (A girls) and Brookings (B girls and B boys).
The Pierre High School Girls Golf team finished tenth at the state golf tournament.
Head golf coach Chris Swiden says they shot a 371 on day one and a 356 on day 2. He says they were in 13th place after day 1 and fought back giving 9th place a run for a little while in round 2 before falling back to 10th.
Swinden says Madilyn Brakke shot her personal best 85 and then 83 to tie for 18th place as an individual and Ellie Jo Simpson was giving a sub 80 round a run before finishing with an 82 on day two. He says the girls showed a lot of growth through the season.
