A 19 year old woman from Pierre was injured and two men were killed in a Sunday evening (6:30pm) accident west of Plankinton.
Preliminary information from the South Dakota Highway Patrol says Kyanne Redwater was driving a 2002 Toyota Camry eastbound on Interstate 90 when she lost control of the car. The vehicle went into the south ditch and rolled.
Both male passengers were not wearing seat belts, were thrown from the vehicle and were pronounced dead at the scene.
One passenger was identified as 26-year-old Wesley Noisy Hawk of Dupree. The identity of the second passenger, a 60-year-old male, is not yet being released.
Redwater suffered serious, non-life threatening injuries, was transported by ambulance to a Mitchell hospital and later airlifted to a Sioux Falls hospital. Charges are pending against her.
South Dakota’s Highway Patrol is in charge of the investigation.
