The Cultural Heritage Center in Pierre will have an assortment of take-to-make activity bags for people during tomorrow’s (July 10) Family Fun Saturday.
Take-to-Make bags can only be picked up 10-11:30am CDT (9-10:30am MDT). The museum reserves the right to limit the number of bags any one person or group can take.
The Family Fun Saturday project bags are leftovers from various projects held earlier this year. Options include a lion/lamb hanging plate, star quilt ornament, spring flower, plant gnome and seed mosaic magnet. Visitors will also be able to pick up a freeze-dried ice cream bar to take home and enjoy.
The activity bags include all the materials needed to complete each project, along with written instructions. Video instructions for all the projects are available on the museum’s webpage at https://history.sd.gov/museum/digital%20outreach.aspx.
The museum is open for visitors. A check-in station at the front door allows visitors to pick up a face mask and gloves if they wish to wear them while enjoying the galleries. Signage encourages visitors to maintain social distancing, and hand sanitizer stations are located throughout the museum.
Admission to the museum is free for all South Dakota residents. Out-of-state adult visitors pay an $8 admission fee or $6 for out-of-state seniors 60 and older. Museum hours are 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. CDT (8 a.m.-3:30 p.m. MDT) Monday through Saturday, and 1-4:30 p.m. CDT (12-3:30 p.m. MDT) on Sundays and most holidays.
