UPDATE DECEMBER 30, 2021:
The people have voted and the Pierre Area Chamber of Commerce has revealed the winners of the 3rd annual holiday lighting competition.
The winners of the 2021 Light Up the Pierre Area competition are:
- People’s Choice– 315 N. Buchanan in Pierre
- Best in Show– 110 S. 4th Street in Fort Pierre
- Griswold Award (most lights)– 115 S. Monroe in Pierre
- Best Holiday Business– The Right Turn in Pierre
Eighteen homes and six businesses registered and 564 votes were cast during the contest recognizing the best holiday light displays in Pierre and Fort Pierre.
Each of the winners receive $100 in Pierre Pride Dollars….and 365 days of bragging rights.

Today (Dec. 29, 2021) is the last day to vote for your favorite display in the 3rd annual Light Up the Pierre Area contest.
The Pierre Area Chamber of Commerce will give $100 worth of Pierre Pride Dollars tomorrow (Dec. 30) in the categories of: Best in Show, Clark Griswold (most lights), Best Holiday Business and People’s Choice.

DECEMBER 7, 2021:
The map for the Pierre Area Chamber of Commerce’s 3rd annual Light Up the Pierre Area becomes available today (Dec. 7, 2021) at 5pm CT.
Chamber CEO Sara Rankin says displays should be on every day from today through Dec. 29, 2021, starting at 6pm each day.
Prizes of $100 in Pierre Pride Dollars will be awarded Dec. 30 in the categories of: Best in Show, Clark Griswold (most lights), Best Holiday Business and People’s Choice.

NOVEMBER 26, 2021:
Join the Pierre Area Chamber of Commerce in spreading holiday cheer during this magical time of year with the 3rd annual holiday light competition, Light Up the Pierre Area!
Community members are encouraged to enter your decorated home or business. There is no fee to participate, but displays should be on every day from December 7-29, 2021, starting at 6PM. To be included on the map and considered for the People’s Choice award, you must pre-register by Dec. 3, 2021.
Prizes of $100 in Pierre Pride Dollars will be awarded on December 30 in the categories of: Best in Show, Clark Griswold (most lights), Best Holiday Business, and People’s Choice.

A map of all participating locations in the Pierre/Fort Pierre area will be available by 5PM Dec. 7. Be sure to vote for your favorite(s).
